The social media campaigns to recruit study participants has started
Through our social media campaigns on Twitter, Instagram, and facebook, we are looking for affected individuals and physicians to share their experiences and perspectives on abortion. Individual posts were developed for each target group, which we document below. The posts were initially created via the accounts of the University of Applied Sciences Fulda.

We have lost an exceptional colleague

On November 1, 2020, we began a project as a large cooperative that would not have come into being without Nena. We will miss her wisdom, her strength and passion, and her scientific and very personal commitment to the project. We will miss her as a much appreciated person.

ELSA research project is not a study on postabortion syndrome
Statement on the November 7, 2021 broadcast of MAITHINK X on abortion.
In the ZDF program MAITHINK X of November 7, 2021, the science journalist Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim dealt with abortion and thus thankfully took up an important topic. Unfortunately, relevant errors have been made, which require a correction.

Recruitment of study participation in the subproject of HS Nordhausen begins
Flyers, posters and a homepage are now available for the topic area of migrated, refugee and illegalized unintentionally pregnant women. We are looking for practice partners who can mediate the contact to the vulnerable groups of these women. The material is intended to make it easier to approach the women concerned.
The objective is to explore the specific life situation and support needs of migrant, illegalized or refugee women who have become pregnant unintentionally.

Study participation in the subproject of the FU Berlin now possible
From now on, study participation in the subproject of the Freie Universität Berlin is possible.
We are looking for women who have been unintentionally pregnant within the last 12 months and have decided to terminate or carry the pregnancy to term.

First meeting of the ELSA project advisory board
The first advisory board meeting took place on 12.03.2021 as an online meeting. 14 members of the advisory board as well as guests of the Federal Ministry of Health and the project management organization (DLR) were present.

Foundation of the doctoral colloquium
On 03 March 2021, the first PhD colloquium, initiated by Laura Olejniczak, Vicky Melchior and Janet Holz from SoFFI in Freiburg, took place online.
The colloquium is aimed at all doctoral students in the ELSA study and serves to promote interdisciplinary and methodological exchange, as well as cross-university networking.
